Tencent Partners with Age of Learning to Launch ABCmouse Immersive English Learning Program for Children in China

Today Tencent and Age of Learning, Inc., announced the launch of a new ABCmouse English learning program in China, an expert-designed immersive language learning product that provides Chinese children with an essential foundation for English conversational fluency and literacy.

The new ABCmouse program was developed through an innovative partnership between the leading digital children’s education company in the U.S. and one of largest Internet companies in the world. Age of Learning’s team of child development and language learning experts created the ABCmouse English learning curriculum, currently comprised of more than 5,000 engaging learning activities organized into hundreds of lessons and a structured learning path, based on extensive research on second-language acquisition. Tencent has expertly integrated this curriculum into a new ABCmouse mobile application and website, and is responsible for product development, marketing, sales, and customer support.

Age of Learning Launches ABCmouse for Schools, a Scalable Solution for School Districts and School Groups in the U.S. and Globally

We’re proud that ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy has become a trusted early learning program for more than 65,000 classroom teachers across the country. However, district-level educators have asked for additional features to support implementation of ABCmouse across all of their early elementary classrooms, with the goal of ensuring that all of their younger students become 3rd-grade-ready. To meet this critical need, we are excited to announce today the launch of ABCmouse for Schools, a scalable solution to meet the pre-k through 2nd grade needs of school districts and school groups in the U.S. and internationally.

ABCmouse for Schools offers two solutions: ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy, a comprehensive supplemental curriculum that builds a strong foundation for academic success across subject areas required for 3rd grade readiness; and the new ABCmouse English Language Learning Academy, which can be used by teachers as a core program or as a rich supplemental resource to provide a developmentally appropriate English language immersion experience.

ABCmouse English Language Learning App Launches in China Exclusively on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

A new ABCmouse English Language Learning app for children ages 3–8 has officially launched in China, marking the first international expansion of the award-winning ABCmouse brand. Serving millions of children in the U.S., ABCmouse is the leading and most comprehensive early education resource online. ABCmouse is regularly the No. 1 children’s learning iPad and iPhone app in both the Kids category and the Education category in Apple’s U.S. App Store. To date, children have completed more than one billion ABCmouse learning activities.

Developed by language learning experts in collaboration with a highly talented creative team, the ABCmouse English Language Learning app features 25 thoughtfully and creatively designed English language learning lessons, and will ultimately include more than 150 lessons that help children learn to speak more than 1,000 English words and to understand more than 2,500 English words and phrases. The new app is now available to families in China exclusively in Apple’s China App Store for use on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
